Partners

To support organisation in achieving Investing in Volunteers, Volunteering England is working in partnership with a number of volunteer development agencies across the country. This partnership is currently only available to organisations in England.

Partners receive comprehensive training in their role and commit to a minimum level of support they can offer, this includes:

  • one face to face meeting where the role of the VDA is established and the extent of the support they can provide explained – this could be at the initial introductory workshop arranged by the assessor as part of the Investing in Volunteers process, or at a separate meeting arranged by the VDA
  • signposting to other sources of good practice, other agencies
  • providing examples of good practice - e.g. volunteer policies
  • asking pertinent questions which encourage the organisation to think about volunteering in the context of their organisational culture and values
  • having an understanding of the Standard, able to interpret meaning for different organisations
  • giving feedback on evidence – this could be over the telephone, email or meetings, depending on resources
  • providing reassurance and encouragement both during the process and following achievement of the award.

These pages give full details of how Partners work as part of the Investing in Volunteers Team, lists Partners in your area and gives information on how Volunteering Development Agencies can apply to become a Partner.
