Who is Volunteering England

Formed on April 1 2004, Volunteering England is the integrated volunteer development agency for England that works to promote volunteering as a powerful force for change, both for those who volunteer and for the wider community.
We support organisations involving volunteers in the private, public and voluntary sectors:

  • undertake research
  • develop policy
  • influence key decision-makers
  • provide advice, information and consultancy
  • develop and promote good practice on managing volunteers.

We actively promote volunteering through campaigns such as the annual Volunteers’ Week. We administer grants on behalf of the Department of Health’s “Opportunities for Volunteering” scheme. We work in partnership with AM Training to offer professional level training for people who manage volunteers www.amtraining.co.uk
