What Else Does The Agency Do

We provide training, support and information on volunteering, volunteer management, child protection and voluntary management committees. Keeping volunteering in the public eye enables us to showcase volunteering as an important aspect of everyday life. We actively promote it through campaigns such as the annual Volunteers' Week and employer supported volunteering. We continue to develop new campaigns that challenge the image of volunteering, illustrate the diversity of volunteering opportunities and add volunteering to the mindset of everyone in our community.

The Agency also administers several grant programmes on behalf of the Department for Social Development (Community Volunteering Scheme and Volunteer Bureaux Initiative) and the Department of Education (Millennium Volunteers). These funding programmes relate to the promotion, support and increase in participation in volunteering.
