Volunteer Centre Edinburgh's website has one of the most comprehensive resources for volunteer managers anywhere on the web. It is a collaborative effort that brings together expertise on volunteering from practitioners, Volunteer Centres, Volunteer Development Scotland and other experts.

The Central Registered Body in Scotland (CRBS) was established by the Scottish Executive to provide free Disclosures (police checks) for volunteers in the voluntary sector working with children, young people and vulnerable adults at risk. The CRBS, based in Stirling, is a service operated by Volunteer Development Scotland.
CRBS offers a comprehensive training programme to meet the needs of all voluntary organisations, whatever their size and wherever they are, and can make arrangements to deliver training to anorganisation on request.

There are a number of websites which focus on good practice in volunteering. Susan Ellis's website, www.energizeinc.com is one such site. The bookshop has a wide variety of books to purchase, in print or electronically, as well as some material free to download.
There is a great deal of useful information on the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisation's [SCVO] website www.scvo.org.uk
The Good Practice Bank on Volunteering England's website, www.volunteering.org.uk/managingvolunteers/goodpracticebank also has lots of relevant information although some may be specific to volunteer involving organisations in England.
