JusB, the Bromley-based youth charity, has been awarded the accolade of Investing in Volunteers quality standard. Only 3 charities in the London Borough of Bromley have achieved this award (the others are Community Links Bromley and Bromley’s Age Concern).
Young People benefit because Investing in Volunteers improves the quality of volunteering, and also acknowledges the enormous contribution that volunteers make.
To achieve the award JusB had to demonstrate best practice and commitment to the continuous support, training and development of their volunteers.
JusB provides eleven different projects which include advice and guidance, support, mentoring, music, half-term projects and a schools programme for the young people of Bromley. Volunteers are heavily involved in all of them.
“Completing the quality standard was a great achievement for JusB,” says Tammy Blaikie-Gould, Volunteer Coordinator for JusB. “It significantly helped me to review the Volunteer programme as we worked through the process to ensure that we are delivering best practice so as to benefit the young people of Bromley”.
An Investing in Volunteers representative will unveil this prestigious award at the JusB Volunteer Christmas party and Awards ceremony.
Tammy Blaikie-Gould, JusB’s Volunteer coordinator said”JusB’s Volunteers offer and bring not only their time, but also their energy, skills, individual perspectives and talents. At the Volunteer awards ceremony we want to recognise and celebrate individuals who have given exceptional service and contributed to the ongoing needs of the charity .It goes without saying that although we are recognising a number of individuals, we are ever grateful to all of our volunteers who demonstrate a tireless commitment to the young people that access JusB’s 11 projects”.
The award will be presented by JusB’s newly appointed Chief Executive George Ruston, who is “delighted to work in a charity so committed to developing young people.”
The charity has announced a new range of volunteer opportunities which include event team planners and an assistant volunteer coordinator.
