It has made us take a long hard look at how we recruit and treat our volunteers. It would be fair to say that we tended to recruit our volunteers from a very limited sector within our own circle, often taking them for granted. We have adopted a number of best practices and policies and now have a timetable to review the way we work with volunteers.
