Why did you decide to go for Investing in Volunteers?

To increase our profile, we feel we look after our volunteers as they are necessary for the running of our organisation. The standard has given us the accreditation that we need to hopefully attract new volunteers to our organisation.

Looking at and improving our practices.

It took a while, but was not expensive to implement the changes needed, but did need some man hours to look at what we do already and improve our practices.

• Someone needs to set plenty of time aside to look at practices

• Organise the assessment day well – agree which volunteers will come and when
