The process enabled us to focus on our current policies however, the evidence required from the assessor was vague and at times this caused stress for both us and service users.

  • Be clear on how your assessment will happen
  • Get agreements with assessors in writing
  • Support volunteers before and after interview
  • Get as many staff involved in the process as possible
  • Have a good party when you’ve been successful!
