New Lodge Duncairn Community Health Partnership

Name of Organisation
New Lodge Duncairn Community Health Partnership
Why did you decide to go for Investing in Volunteers?
We wanted to make sure our volunteers had support structures and guidelines to help them with their volunteering role.
What benefits have you found from working towards Investing in Volunteers?
We have been able to put together a framework which is easy for both staff and volunteers to understand. It means that everyone knows what is expected of them and also if there is a problem, the protocol for dealing with it.
Tell us about your experience of the assessment process in your organisation.
The experience for us was a very important one as we are a small organisation and we don't have the same back up as larger organisations. The mentoring for us was very important as it provided us with positive feedback every step of the way.

5 Practical Tips you would give another organisation working towards Investing in Volunteers:

  • Don't make it the responsibility of one person to do all the work.
  • Keep a simple filing system.
  • Keep your volunteers informed of what is happening.
  • Make sure all members of your staff and management board understand the procedures.
  • Keep up to date with current legislation.
