Why did you decide to go for Investing in Volunteers?

We have been working with volunteers for almost 10 years, and developed good practise and procedures. We want this to be recognised, and also for us to ensure that we are doing the best for volunteers.

What benefits have you found from working towards Investing in Volunteers?

It has allowed the whole organisation to see what value volunteers contribute to our work.It has also ensured that every volunteer and staff member feel responsible for making volunteers feel included in the organisation.

Tell us about your experience of the assessment process in your organisation.

The process was very straight forward. We received more than enough support from our assessor, and found the actual assessment day problem free.

Some of the volunteers found the 10 indicators difficult to understand – as they were quite formal. The policies were rather dry and complicated.
