Being one of the first wave of groups applying for Investing in Volunteers we found it quite hard work at times – however, we feel very proud of our achievement and have used it positively.
We have recently applied for funding from a local company who we know look for a quality mark from organisations that they support. We kept them informed about our work towards acquiring Investing in Volunteers and then achieving the whole award and they have now agreed to a substantial grant towards our work.
We also see the award as recognition of our work with volunteers, reassuring prospective volunteers, potential funders and our service users, that our volunteers are highly valued, highly trained and well supported. Home-Start Croydon
