Why did you decide to go for Investing in Volunteers?

Because as an integrated Volunteer Centre we should be setting a good example in volunteer management and the award gave us an opportunity to evidence this.

It helped to gain recognition of the importance of good management systems throughout the organisation.

It has been a very useful process for evaluating the volunteer management systems we had in place and reviewing and adjusting them to ensure they are up to date.

Ensure enough time is allocated to a dedicate staff member
Keep in contact with your Assessor
Utilise an internal steering group and delegate responsibilities for certain activities.
