Swansea Council for Voluntary Service (SCVS) are proud to announce that they have recently been awarded the Investing in Volunteers quality mark for their volunteering projects. The award is given to registered projects which demonstrate excellence in their involvement of volunteers across a wide spectrum of criteria, and is a sign of active best practice in the volunteering project. SCVS received this award for the Involve Volunteering Project, ‘Get Together’ Parent Peer Mentor scheme (which won the Best Group volunteering category of this years Volunteer of the Year Award), and the Mental Health and Well-Being Project based at Cefn Coed Hospital.
Carol Green, Director of SCVS, says, 'We are thrilled to receive this award, which further underlines our commitment to the vital role that volunteers play in society'.
The award was presented at the AGM of SCVS to Ennis Roberts, Chair of the Board of Trustees by Leah Doherty, WCVA. It is especially appropriate that SCVS received the award during an afternoon where volunteers, including young people from Bishop Gore school and volunteer mentors from the award winning ‘Get Together’ project were awarded certificates of achievement in recognition of the time, dedication and commitment they have shown in their voluntary work.

Cyngor Gwasanaeth Gwirfoddol Abertawe
Mae Cyngor Gwasanaeth Gwirfoddol Abertawe (CGGA) yn falch o gyhoeddi eu bod wedi derbyn y nod ansawdd Buddsoddi mewn Gwirfoddolwyr yn ddiweddar am eu prosiectau gwirfoddoli. Rhoddir y wobr i brosiectau cofrestredig sy’n dangos rhagoriaeth o ran ymwneud gwirfoddolwyr yn eu gwaith ar draws sbectrwm eang o feini prawf, ac mae’n arwydd o arfer gorau gweithredol yn y prosiect gwirfoddoli. Derbyniodd CGGA y wobr hon am y Prosiect Gwirfoddoli Involve, cynllun Mentora Rhieni gan Rieni ‘Dewch at eich Gilydd’/’Get Together' ( a enillodd y categori Grŵp Gorau yng Ngwobrau Gwirfoddolwr y Flwyddyn eleni), a’r Prosiect Iechyd Meddwl a Lles yn Ysbyty Cefn Coed.
Dywedodd Carol Green, Cyfarwyddwr CGGA, ‘Rydym yn falch iawn o ennill y wobr hon, sy’n pwysleisio eto ein hymrwymiad i rôl hanfodol gwirfoddolwyr mewn cymdeithas.’
Cyflwynwyd y wobr yng nghyfarfod cyffredinol blynyddol CGGA i Ennis Roberts, Cadeirydd y Bwrdd Ymddiriedolwyr gan Leah Doherty, WCVA. Mae’n arbennig o briodol fod CGGA wedi derbyn y wobr yn ystod prynhawn lle roedd gwirfoddolwyr, gan gynnwys pobl ifanc o ysgol Esgob Gore a mentoriaid gwirfoddolwyr o'r prosiect 'Dewch at eich Gilydd' yn derbyn tystysgrifau cyflawniad i gydnabod yr amser, yr ymroddiad a'r ymrwymiad y maent wedi’u dangos yn eu gwaith gwirfoddol.
