Tell us about your experience of the assessment process in your organisation.

It was a large timetable to organise but it worked well on the day. One volunteer was ill but able to undertake a telephone assessment.

5 Practical tips you would give another organisation working towards Investing in Volunteers

  • Involve the whole team (volunteers, staff and trustees) so responsibilities can be shared
  • Regular meetings to check progress and to help keep on track so can meet assessment day deadline.
  • Be realistic about time commitments.
  • Ensure everybody kept up to date on progress
  • Reassure volunteers on the procedure as can get worried about the assessment and feel responsible.
