I found the assessment process to be straightforward, the final assessment visit gave us excellent insight as to how our volunteers feel about their volunteering experience.

5 Practical tips you would give another organisation working towards Investing in Volunteers

  • Start working towards achieving the standard as early as possible
  • Involve as many relevant people in the process as possible
  • Make use of the resources available such as the IiV website
  • Speak to other organisations who have been through or are going through the standard
  • Make sure that all staff, volunteers and trustees know what IiV is.
