I found the assessment process to be straightforward, the final assessment visit gave us excellent insight as to how our volunteers feel about their volunteering experience.

5 Practical tips you would give another organisation working towards Investing in Volunteers

Start working towards achieving the standard as early as possible
Involve as many relevant people in the process as possible
Make use of the resources available such as the IiV website
Speak to other organisations who have been through or are going through the standard
Make sure that all staff, volunteers and trustees know what IiV is.
