Wandsworth Community Transport
| Name of Organisation |
| Wandsworth Community Transport / Wandsworth Shopmobility |
| Why did you decide to go for Investing in Volunteers? |
| Having gained the benefits from going through the pilot IiV, we wanted to retain this quality award and continue to build on this.
|
| What benefits have you found from working towards Investing in Volunteers? |
| It enabled us to look at our procedures and policies and to ensure that they applied equally to staff and, where relevant, our volunteers.
|
| How did the assessment work in your organisation? |
| The assessment process worked very well. Our organisation has two sites with staff and volunteers at both. Interviews were arranged to accommodate individual work times, whilst still maintaining a service to our clients.
|
| Practical tips you would give another organisation working towards Investing in Volunteers: - Involve volunteers in the process at all times. Share tasks and roles.
- Be practical and allow time to formulate policies and procedures.
- Get buy-in from staff and volunteers on all changes.
