Why did you decide to go for Investing in Volunteers?

The organisation works with alto of volunteers and we wanted to ensure that we were working to set standards. We also felt that the award would enable us to attract further volunteers and help with funding opportunities.

What benefits have you found from working towards Investing in Volunteers?

The process of working towards the award was extremely beneficial, it enabled us to review all of our current policies and procedures and in some areas highlighted that we needed to improve. This then enabled us to develop an action plan for improvement and further development of the volunteering element of the organisation.

Tell us about your experience of the assessment process in your organisation.

We found the assessment process to be very rewarding; our assessor was very approachable, open and honest with us. She was happy to spend time with us highlighting the areas we needed to focus on and improve.

·Involve the whole organisation not just those responsible for volunteers.
