Community Development/Support

The Carers' Resource - October 2014

What have been the overall benefits of achieving/renewing the IiV accreditation?

Recognition within the organisation of the work of the volunteer co-ordinators.

Please provide a quote that sums up the IiV experience for your organisation

Every time we renew our recognition we reflect on the progress we have made and make a commitment to continue to improve. It is always useful having an external person assess our practice and we listen carefully to feedback and address the issues raised.

What are your 5 practical tips for another organisation working towards Investing in Volunteers?

1. - think about your evidence

2. - include those closest to the process in the working towards the standard

3. - the standard reflects good practice - use it as such

4. - listen to your critics

5. - you are always working towards - as your volunteer population is always changing
