What have been the overall benefits of achieving/renewing the IiV accreditation?
It allowed us the time to reflect on what we were doing well as an organisation to support volunteers but also helped us identify areas we need to work on as an organisation, with independent feedback from the volunteers themselves.

The process was extremely positive and helpful. A big part of that is down to our assessor Becky, who made the whole experience constructive rather than daunting or scary. Very pleased that we decided to do it as it has helped us take the time out to recognise things we are doing well and also ideas for where we can make the experience of volunteering with us even better in the future!
What tips would you give to other organisations working towards Investing in Volunteers?
- The whole organisation needs to get involved, too much for one person to do alone e.g. set up a steering group
- Approach the process as a positive learning experience
