Raised awareness of volunteer involvement and how diverse it is, the different skills, knowledge and experience that are donated. Raised the profile of the Volunteer Services Team and led to better partnership working. An opportunity for volunteers to be heard and participate in workshops, assessments etc.

- Be confident that you have policies and processes in place that are in line with best practice
- Talk to another organisation that has undergone the process
- Be prepared for a lot of hard work
- Establish a working party and be flexible so that as many people can dip in and dip out as possible
