What have been the overall benefits of achieving/renewing the IiV accreditation?
We as a team have felt that working towards the award has given us a focus on what we do well and what we could improve on. We identified that our practice had been really good and that we were offering a very positive service, there was very little we could improve on which was very positive. However, we also identified some areas we could improve on which has helped us to focus on ensuring our practice is of an even higher standard.

Overall we felt the process was a positive experience, there were some frustrations around differing information that we had been given, but overall i think it was positive for all involved.
What tips would you give to other organisations working towards Investing in Volunteers?
1. Read through the standards before the initial assessment meeting.
2. Try to gather evidence for the standards as you go along as opposed to when you are being assessed.
3. Seek support and ask questions, WCVA are there to help.
4. Ensure that staff and volunteers have different policies/procedures in place for some aspects.
