Gilfach Goch Community Association

Community Association receives prestigious award for a second time around!

January 2012

Gilfach Goch Community Association is absolutely thrilled to have once again received the prestigious Investors in Volunteers Award and follows on from what has been a long period of evaluation to ensure that the associations volunteering programme continues to meet the high standards required by both the association and stakeholders in the programme.

Alison Patterson, who has been the associations Volunteer Coordinator for the past 3 years, said ‘As the member of staff responsible for the running of programme, I am extremely grateful to both Interlink and the WCVA for the continued support that we get as well the advice they have given in helping us the get this award for the second time’.

‘I am also extremely grateful to our volunteers who helped to ensure that the volunteering programme we run is both comprehensive and robust and able to provide the opportunities that members of the community deserve’.

Alison also added that the process for achieving the award had in itself been an extremely worthwhile experience as it required you to take a good hard look at the programme and identify where there was still room for improvement.

Anna Williams, one of volunteers supporting the programme, agreed that the award had been great for the volunteers as it had helped to improve the programme and helped the volunteers to have a better understanding of what was required.

Kirsty James, another volunteer supporting the programme said ‘as a group of people who have been with the centre for quite a long time, we feel that it is nice to be associated with something that has been recognised for its high standards’.

Racheal Hanlyn, who as a volunteer has been helping the programme with its admin said ‘For me the award has been great, as I was one of the volunteers given the opportunity to help with updating our programme and I feel that my input has helped us to achieve this award’.

Cymdeithas Gymunedol yn sicrhau dyfarniad pwysig am yr eildro!
Mae Cymdeithas Gymunedol y Gilfach Goch wedi gwirioni ar ôl sicrhau statws pwysig fel Buddsoddwyr mewn Gwirfoddolwyr, a hynny ar ôl cyfnod hir o werthuso i sicrhau bod rhaglen wirfoddoli’r gymdeithas yn parhau i gyrraedd y safonau uchel sy’n ofynnol gan y gymdeithas a rhanddeiliaid y rhaglen.

Meddai Alison Patterson, sydd wedi gweithredu fel Cydlynydd Gwirfoddolwyr ers tair blynedd, ‘Fel yr aelod o staff sy’n gyfrifol am redeg y rhaglen, rwyf yn ddiolchgar dros ben i Interlink a WCVA am eu cefnogaeth ddiflino a hefyd am y cyngor maent wedi’i roi i ni i’n helpu i sicrhau’r dyfarniad hwn am yr eildro’.

‘Rwyf yn ddiolchgar iawn hefyd i’n gwirfoddolwyr sydd wedi helpu i sicrhau bod ein rhaglen wirfoddoli’n un gynhwysfawr a chadarn ac yn gallu cynnig y cyfleoedd y mae aelodau’r gymuned yn eu haeddu.

Dywedodd Alison hefyd bod y broses o sicrhau’r dyfarniad ynddi’i hun wedi bod yn un werth chweil gan eu bod wedi gorfod edrych yn fanwl iawn ar y rhaglen a meddwl a oedd lle i wella o hyd.

Roedd Anna Williams, un o’r gwirfoddolwyr sy’n gysylltiedig â’r rhaglen yn cytuno bod y dyfarniad wedi bod yn beth da iawn i’r gwirfoddolwyr gan ei fod wedi helpu i wella’r rhaglen ac wedi helpu’r gwirfoddolwyr i gael dealltwriaeth well o’r hyn oedd ei angen.

Meddai Kirsty James, un arall o’r gwirfoddolwyr sy’n gysylltiedig â’r rhaglen, ‘fel grŵp o bobl sydd wedi bod yn ymwneud â’r ganolfan ers amser, rydym yn teimlo ei bod yn braf cael ein cysylltu â rhywbeth sy’n cael ei gydnabod am ei safonau uchel’.

Meddai Racheal Hanlyn, sydd wedi bod yn cynorthwyo’r rhaglen gyda’i gwaith gweinyddol yn wirfoddol, ‘I mi, mae’r dyfarniad wedi bod yn beth gwych, gan fy mod yn un o’r gwirfoddolwyr a gafodd gyfle i helpu i ddiweddaru’n rhaglen ac rwyf yn teimlo bod fy nghyfraniad wedi helpu i sicrhau’r dyfarniad.’
