BulliesOut renew their Investing in Volunteers award

Published 17 March 2016

BulliesOut was established in May 2006 and provides anti-bullying Education, Training, Awareness and Support.

BulliesOut has established a number of new working practices as a result of working towards the Investing in Volunteers award, including promoting opportunities more widely to attract a greater diversity of volunteers, developing training courses to help them to be more confident and effective in their roles and introducing new ways to allow volunteers to share their views and ideas.

‘We are thrilled to once again achieve the standard,’ said BulliesOut CEO, Linda James MBE.  ‘It is a huge accolade to the hard work of both our volunteers and the organisation. This is the third time we have achieved this prestigious award and each time, the process enables us to comprehensively review our volunteer programme and publicly demonstrate our commitment to volunteering’.

This year will see the 10th anniversary of BulliesOut and the charity has a number of exciting plans for the future – including the development of a new youth project. Youth Ambassador, Laura Gorman, 20, of Neath said ‘I am so pleased to be part of an organisation that values its volunteers. The programme has enabled me to grow and develop and to achieve so much. I love being part of BulliesOut and will be for a very long time!!’
