Housing Association first to be awarded Investing in Volunteers Quality Standard

Taff Housing Association is delighted to have been the first housing association in Wales to be accredited.

Taff’s Building Futures programme offers access to a wide range of internal and external volunteer opportunities that each include a package of accredited training and one to one support to complement practical experience gained through placements. The award demonstrates that Taff has volunteering embedded right across the association, values volunteers, and tailors placements to individual needs and aspirations.

When asked by IiV, one volunteer said, ‘I can’t believe how accepting and non-judgemental [Taff] are, allowing the chance for opportunities that you wouldn’t normally get. Nothing’s too much trouble. I thought my health problem would be a barrier but it wasn’t. One staff member said she believed in me, which made me feel proud and happy.’

Chief Executive, Elaine Ballard said ‘We believe in the strength of our communities and the people who live here. Our volunteering and educational programmes are simply about unlocking the talent and enthusiasm already present in our neighbourhoods. This award is definitely well deserved, and a credit to Clare and all our volunteers.’

Clare Dickinson, Senior Community Investment Officer leading the Building Futures Scheme, commented on the accreditation by saying that ‘We hope that achieving the standard will continue to strengthen our reputation as one of the best housing related employment support programmes in Wales and encourage more people to volunteer.’

‘I would encourage anybody to uptake the volunteering opportunities available at Taff by calling 02920 259146 or emailing

Y Gymdeithas Dai gyntaf i ennill Safon Ansawdd Buddsoddi mewn Gwirfoddolwyr
Mae Cymdeithas Tai Taf wrth ei bodd o fod y gymdeithas dai gyntaf yng Nghymru i sicrhau’r statws.

Mae rhaglen Adeiladu’r Dyfodol Cymdeithas Tai Taf yn cynnig ystod eang o gyfleoedd gwirfoddoli mewnol ac allanol sy’n cynnwys pecyn hyfforddiant wedi’i achredu a chymorth un wrth un i ategu profiad ymarferol a geir drwy wirfoddoli. Mae’r wobr yn dangos bod Cymdeithas Tai Taf wedi gwneud gwirfoddoli yn rhan annatod o’r mudiad, ei bod yn gwerthfawrogi gwirfoddolwyr, a’i bod yn teilwra lleoliadau gwirfoddoli i ateb anghenion a dyheadau unigol.

Wrth gael ei holi gan Buddsoddi mewn Gwirfoddolwyr, dywedodd un gwirfoddolwr, ‘alla’i ddim credu pa mor groesawgar ac anfeirniadol y mae’r Gymdeithas, gan gynnig cyfleoedd na fyddech fel arfer yn eu cael. Does dim byd yn ormod o drafferth. Roeddwn yn meddwl y byddai fy mhroblem iechyd yn rhwystr ond doedd hi ddim. Dywedodd un aelod o staff ei bod yn credu ynof, a wnaeth i mi deimlo’n falch ac yn hapus.’

Dywedodd y Prif Weithredwr, Elaine Ballard ‘Rydym yn credu yng ngrym ein cymunedau a’r bobl sy’n byw yma. Nod ein rhaglenni gwirfoddoli ac addysg yw datgloi’r ddawn a’r brwdfrydedd sydd eisoes yn bodoli yn ein cymunedau. Mae’r wobr hon yn gwbl haeddiannol, ac yn glod i Clare a’n gwirfoddolwyr i gyd.’

Soniodd Clare Dickinson, Uwch Swyddog Buddsoddi Cymunedol sy’n arwain y rhaglen Adeiladu’r Dyfodol, am yr achrediad gan ddweud ‘Rydym yn gobeithio y bydd cyrraedd y safon hon yn parhau i gryfhau ein henw da fel un o’r rhaglenni cymorth cyflogaeth gorau ym maes tai yng Nghymru ac yn annog mwy o bobl i wirfoddoli.’

‘Fe fyddwn yn annog unrhyw un i fanteisio ar y cyfleoedd gwirfoddoli sydd ar gael yng Nghymdeithas Tai Taf drwy ffonio 02920 259146 neu ebostio
