This year we celebrate 10 years of the Investing in Volunteers Award. We talked to NewLink Wales - the very first organisation in Wales to be awarded the standard, back in 2005 . They have grown from strength to strength, with volunteering still at the heart of all they do.

Age Cymru Swansea Bay is a dynamic charity set up 40 years ago. Over the years we have adapted to meet the rising need of our clients, but maintaining our investment in volunteers. The Charities aim is to support people 50+ living in the City and County of Swansea, to maintain their independence.

We are pleased to be able to share the findings of the recently completed UK-wide evaluation of Investing in Volunteers (IiV), carried out by the Institute of Volunteering Research (IVR).
The independent assessment focused on the impact of IiV on achiever organisations over the last 6 years, with a total of 141 respondents providing feedback through a combination of a survey and in-depth telephone interviews.

We would like to thank all of those organisations who contributed to the evalaution, the findings of which will help to inform how we develop the IiV standard in each country.
